The environmental management system operating at ТОО CNP PROCESSING KAZAKHSTAN Refinery complies with ISO 14001, GOST (State Standard) R ISO 14001, international and Kazakhstan environmental laws and regulations, including industry-specific standards.
Adaptation of individual elements of the corporate administration management system to the specifics of the environmental management, in particular, by means of allocation of functions and tasks between the company units and allocation of rights and obligations between the specialists, as set forth in the organisation department regulations and job descriptions;
Bringing of the procedures of introduction, application and updating of the environmental management system to a single structured process aimed at continuous improvement of the environmental management system performance.
The main task of the company in the field of environmental safety is compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation of the Kazakhstan.
monitoring of the state of atmospheric air and the level of noise at the border of the sanitary protection zone;
control over emissions of pollutants from sources in production;
control over the quality of wastewater discharged to treatment plants from process plants and other facilities of the enterprise;
control over the efficiency of sewage treatment plants, the quality of wastewater treatment;
control over the quality of sewage discharged into water bodies;
control over the quality of surface water bodies;
control over the quality of circulating and make-up water for units of circulating water supply;
control over the quality of drinking water coming from water supply networks and artesian wells;
control over the state of soils, underground and surface waters in the zone of the complex of storage and disposal of waste.
Environmental monitoring works being carried out are regulated by provisions of international conventions covering offshore and onshore protection of environment (Oslo-Paris Convention, Tehran Framework Convention), orders and resolutions of the President of the Almaty city,, Article 18 of the law On Protection of Environment, Regulations on State Monitoring of Environment and Natural Resources approved by Decision No.90 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 1, 2010 and the Environmental Policy document approved by Order No.77 of ТОО CNP PROCESSING KAZAKHSTAN dated May 12, 2013, which defines directions of the practical works in the field of protection of environment, ecological safety and effective use of natural resources at the enterprises and organizations of ТОО CNP PROCESSING KAZAKHSTAN.
The research object of environmental monitoring being carried out by ТОО CNP PROCESSING KAZAKHSTAN’s Environmental Department covers oil and gas production departments acting in oil and gas fields belonging to ТОО CNP PROCESSING KAZAKHSTAN in the Almaty sector, oil-gas and petrochemical enterprises, as well as production areas of contract areas of Operating Companies and Joint ventures on Production Sharing Agreement.
The purpose of carrying out the environmental monitoring is to analyse the preliminary condition aimed at discovering natural condition of the environment before any operation works are carried at departments and enterprises subordinated to ТОО CNP PROCESSING KAZAKHSTAN, carry out research works with the view of assessing the level of seriousness of impacts caused by exploration, drilling, oil-gas production etc. works and wastes thrown into the environment during such operations, keep the amount and quality of solid, liquid and gaseous contaminants generated during production processes under control in order to define air, water and soil environments and rehabilitate the ecological balance in the area, analyse their chemical composition, degree of contamination, radioactive and hydrological characteristics, conduct analyses of samples taken at a complex researches laboratory built to the requirements of international standards and give recommendations to remove shortages found.
